National Adoption Month
November is National Adoption Awareness Month. This adoption month’s focus is on foster care adoption. The American foster care system provides housing and care for thousands of children who are orphaned or whose parents can’t properly care for them.
Although international adoption is growing quite popular, many American children are in desparate need of a permanent home, with loving parents. Rather than spending thousands more on international adoption, this month’s awareness is to encourage million of Americans to consider adopting a child from the foster care system. Over 100,000 children are waiting in foster care, being moved from home to home until they reach the legal age of 18. These children are in need of a permanent family, and someone who is always there to care for and support them.
This month consider domestic adoption from the American foster care system or an adoption agency, and become family for a waiting child.
